Biotechnology combines various fields of science such as microbiology, biochemistry, and molecular biology. Biotechnological processes have already been carried out in ancient times, just think about the production of wine and beer, for example.
Biotechnology is based on the chemical conversion of different substances using (micro) organisms. Without biotechnology, many everyday products such as yoghurt, cheese and vinegar as well as insulin or agricultural products would not exist.
Biotechnology has a long tradition at ARIC. Thanks to continuous investment in infrastructure and staff training, interesting projects can now be successfully carried out and a whole variety of different client requests are processed.
