The ALIMENTARIUS Science Award 2023

Sophie Bauer was awarded 1st place of “DER ALIMENTARIUS” science award by the journal “DIE ERNÄHRUNG” for her outstanding master thesis on heat-resistant moulds (HRM).

The master thesis was conducted at the AGRANA Research & Innovation Center (ARIC), department for Fruit Technology & Life Sciences, under the joint supervision of Univ. Prof. Dr. Konrad Domig (University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences - BOKU) and Dr. Anatol Schmidt (ARIC). In her work, Ms Bauer investigated multiple aspects of HRM that are relevant to the business of AGRANA, comprising screening of raw materials, possible impact of processing and formulation of fruit preparations, as well as growth factors in finished products. DER ALIMENTARIUS has been awarded annually since 2019 by the journal DIE ERNÄHRUNG for outstanding scientific work in the food and nutritional sciences, with the aim to promote young academics and increases public awareness of food issues.
